Plastic or PVC coping degrades with time and gets brittle. This particular style has a life span of about one liner life. There are better styles as shown below that are built from aluminum and powder coated. Aluminum coping does not lose strength or get brittle with time, making it a smarter choice. The initial cost is higher, but the payoff comes when you can change your liner without changing the coping.
